Training

Training

Using technology effectively makes your organizing easier, better and faster, but you can’t achieve those gains if your team lacks the skills.  PTP’s curriculum uses organizing scenarios and group projects to focus your learning on organizing challenges.  We offer trainings that can bolster your organization’s capacity to employ basic tech skills, develop communications plans, and effectively integrate technology tools into your organizing strategies.  Read more below about the roster of trainings we offer, including TechCamp for skill-building basics, Community Organizing and Technology Institute (COaTI) for increasing organizational capacity, and specialized intensive trainings that offer grants, training, and ongoing technical assistance and strategic consulting.  One of these programs is REVERB, designed to help you deepen the strategic integration of technology into your work.  Read on for more information.

TechCamp

Join other organizers for a “Technology Boot Camp” that draws on community organizing scenarios and includes these subjects: introduction to file management, mailing label production, newsletter layout, contact tracking, email and spam management, web research, and photo manipulation. We offer TechCamp in English, TechCamp en español, and TechCamp online. We also offer TechCamp for trainers – Learn PTP’s TechCamp curriculum so you can offer workshops to the staff and members of your organization and its allies.

COaTI

PTP’s Community Organizing and Technology Institute (COaTI) helps your organization incorporate technology to take your work to the next level. Its focus is on finding and sharing the best ways to use technology in the grassroots community organizing environment.  PTP offers two COaTI programs, Communications, and Databases and Technology Assessment and Planning.

REVERB

PTP also offers REVERB, an specialized intensive training that provides financial resources, technical assistance, and peer-to-peer learning opportunities to help organizations deepen their capacity for on-going, integrated, strategic communications activities. These programs are for groups that have the infrastructure, staff, and a commitment to strategic integration of technology into their work.
