PB Tip: Keep Donors Happy Who Don’t Want Too Much Email

This question came into Support:
I recently received a request from a donor that she only receive two requests a year. What is the best way to record this info in PowerBase so that I don’t send her more requests?
You can create a group of donors who want a lighter load of requests from you (i.e. “contact me only a couple of times per year”) and get them to sign up for that themselves.
To do this, you need to create the group, make it a mailing list, and include a token in an email you send to the donors so that they can sign up for the correct group. The token would be something like {action.subscribeUrl.88} where 88 is the group ID (you can find the group ID on the Manage Groups list of groups).
Alternately, you could just put contacts like this donor into one of 2 donor groups: one for regular appeals and one for those that only want to be contacted twice a year.
