PTP's Program: CONVENINGS

Organizers lack opportunities to discuss and explore the potential of strategic uses of technology in organizing. To address this need, PTP holds occasional convenings of organizers, technical assistance providers and funders to discuss the potentials and pitfalls that the strategic use of technology offers organizers. PTP had its first Convening in April 2000. This event included 90 participants including 30 organizing groups and participants from technical assistance and funding organizations. Since then, we've held convenings on Geographic Informations Systems (2002) and on "Using Technology in Organizing for Civic Participation in the Democratic Process" (2003).
