Teaching and learning online with wikis 0

Teaching and learning online with wikis is a nice overview of wiki technology, along with some notes about using wikis as part of a learning environment.

No Powerpoint? No Problem! Browser-based presentation slides 0

If you need to to a presentation, but don’t have PowerPoint, and don’t want to install Open Office, this could be a good option:

Browser-based presentation slides: S5: “I just got back from leading an all-day software training where I made some use of Eric Meyer’s S5 (that’s “Simple Standards-Based Slide Show System”). . . . A bonus is that it has print as well as screen styles, so you can print take-away notes from your slide file — and these notes can include text not visible on your slides. If I were using it regularly I’d use some sort of templating system so I didn’t have to look at HTML tags while I was composing my thoughts, but that’s about it for criticism.

The other nice thing about using a system like this is that publishing your slides to the web is automatic - just add a link to presentation from the appropriate page on your website and you’re done.
